The International Coaches Federation offers the following definition for professional coaches:
Professional coaches provide an ongoing partnership designed to help clients produce fulfilling results in their personal and professional lives. Coaches help people improve their performances and enhance the quality of their lives.
Coaches are trained to listen, to observe and to customize their approach to individual client needs. They seek to elicit solutions and strategies from the client; they believe the client is naturally creative and resourceful. The coach's job is to provide support to enhance the skills, resources, and creativity that the client already has.
At Evolution Coaching, clients are encouraged to think through and develop visions for success that surpass traditional boundaries and borders—to be bold and embrace possibilities. To progress and move forward, clients are guided to go beyond situational and self-imposed limitations, achieving growth and goals that might have been previously thought out-of-reach. Clients take a look at their situations and determine how to make more conscious choices, choices based on what is meaningful to them, rather than merely what is expected of them.
The success of an organization in meeting its desired outcomes rests in large part in its human resources. The work done by Evolution Coaching expands the leadership capacity of individual team members and enhances team effectiveness.
How the service is delivered:
Coaching calls take place over the phone or in person. Each coaching appointment is approximately 45 minutes in duration. A minimum 5-month commitment is requested to allow the process of coaching to work and results to be realized.
Partnership Coaching takes place over the phone or in-person. Each appointment (both parties are always present) is approximately 60 minutes in duration.
Team and Organizational Coaching takes place at in-person workshops. Workshops are scheduled in succession, for example once per month, to build upon learning and development, and to hold individuals and the team accountable to their commitments.
Client is the expert:
A coach holds the client capable of determining his or her course of action and considers the client an expert in his or her own life. The coach has the questions, inspiration, kick-in-the-butt, gentle-nudges, celebrations or whatever is required in a particular moment to serve the discovery and progress of the client. The client has the answers, makes the choices, and takes action in the direction of their goals.
